Verna Massie

Verna was born on August 19, 1922 in Goodnight, Texas to Lee Roy and Clara King Shores. She was a house wife, married Floyd B. Massie on July 5, 1941 in Goodnight, Texas. She loved to sew, work in her yard, working with Meals on Wheels, community activities, Claude basketball games, and she loved teaching Sunday school at First Baptist Church of Claude. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd B. Massie, a Brother, Alba Shores, 6 sisters, Cressie Bailey, Maude Talley, Ruth Matheson, Eunice Morris, Helen McDowell and Inez Shores. She is survived by a son: Kent and wife Lori Massie of Amarillo, a daughter Rhonda and husband Bill Hood of Merkel, Tex.; 5 grandchildren. Jessica and husband Joe Dougherty, Trevor Hood, Cenee and husband Derek Faught, Hannah Massie and Kayla Massie and one great grandson, Daxtin.
