Vicki "Susan" Mcclanahan

Vicki “Susan” McClanahan, 73, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday December 7, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr., with Pastor Jeff Dietz officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Susan was born in Amarillo on September 22, 1951 to Maxine and George Smith. She married Billy McClanahan on May 1, 1970 and a few weeks later, graduated from Tascosa High School. Susan worked in insurance billing for St. Anthony’s Hospital and Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic for many years.  She loved shopping and spending time with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents.

Susan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband, Billy, two daughters, Tisha Nowak and her husband Ashton of College Station, and Tiffani Simpson and her husband Roman of Amarillo; and one son, Billy McClanahan III and his wife Anne of Austin. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her seven grandchildren, Lexi and Tate, Keegan, Sawyer, York, Dallas and Anabelle, as well as three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Briar, and Veda. She is also survived by her siblings, George Smith and his wife Mary of Wichita, Kansas and Debbie Jenkins and her husband Larry of Lubbock. Susan also loved all her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or BSA Hospice.
