Virgil Ray Sneed

Virgil Ray Sneed, 68, of Amarillo, died November 28, 2017. Virgil was born July 22, 1949 in Artesia, New Mexico to Virgil Sneed and Catherine Cornwell where he graduated from Artesia High School. After graduation, he proudly served in United States Army from 1969 to 1972 where he was stationed in Vietnam. Virgil worked in the Oil Field and at Bell Trailer Plex before his retirement. Virgil enjoyed drag racing, going fishing, playing bingo and watching his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders. He is survived by his 6 children, sister, Linda Cole and brother, Gerald Sneed and 13 grandchildren. His family would like to thank every staff member at Ussery-Roan State Veteran's Home for their kind and loving care of Virgil and for the Honor Guard service that was performed.
