Virginia Lee Garrison

Virginia Lee Garrison, 97, died Thursday, March 20, 2014. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Fellowship North Campus with Johnnie Thomason officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Virginia was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Hereford to Henry and Saleta Bowsher. She was raised in Hereford, where she graduated from Hereford High School. She attened Draughn's Business College. Virginia married Clay Blanton Garrison on Feb. 15, 1951, in Taos, N.M. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1997. She worked as a secretary for John McClain Insurance and also for her husband's investment and sales businesses for many years. Virginia and her family lived in Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Her favorite memories included the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell. She devoted her life to caring for others and was known for her great cooking skills, which she often shared with many friends and her husband's work associates. She enjoyed her attendance at Hillside Christian Church's senior life thursday fellowship. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Geoffroy and husband Joe and Mary Grigsby; a sister, Mildred Bowsher, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Katie Spetman and husband Brian, Kelsey Miller and husband Jason and Maegen Geoffroy; three step-grandchildren, Jason Geoffroy, Amber Price and Erin Geoffroy; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Robertson; six stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Clay Blanton Garrison; two sisters and two brothers.
