Walter "Walt" King

Walter “Walt” King, 77, of Canyon, passed away on February 8, 2022. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday February 15, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home with Pastor Donny Lane officiating. Walt will be available for viewing on Monday February 14, 2022 from 12:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Walt was born on February 13, 1944 to Walter and Jennie King in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He married his bride, Betty King in Pennsylvania on December 11, 1964. They eventually made their home in Amarillo where Walt worked construction. Walt and Betty were married for 57 years. Walt enjoyed playing Poker and going to a good casino during his free time. He loved football and was an avid Steelers fan. Walt was a craftsman and spent many hours in his shop woodworking and building furniture. Among his many hobbies, Walt enjoyed collecting coins and antiques; He also loved listening to old music. He was always looking to spend time with his family. Walt was always willing to provide help to those that he loved and that loved him.  He was loved by many and will be missed.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Ronnie King; two sisters, Sally and Elva King; one sister-in-law, Sharon king and one grandson, Keith Burdick

Survivors include his wife, Betty King of the home; two sons, Mark King and Walter King and his wife Angela; two daughters, Marie Deaver and husband Jeff and Dawn Moore and husband Nathan; his son in love, Gary King and wife Julie; one brother, Charles King; eight grandchildren, Keeley, Samantha, Michael, Amber, Brent, Danny, Seth and Kayden; twelve great grandchildren, Kenzye, Kallye, Londynn, Houston, Jordan, Oakland, Willow, Meadow, August, Alexis, Aurora and Merik.
