Wanda Marie Childers

Wanda Marie Childers, 84, of Amarillo passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. Wanda was born on November 5, 1933 in Crowell, Texas to R.T. and Lorean Frazier. Wanda graduated from Hobbs High School in 1952. She married David Childers on July 2, 1955 in Hobbs, New Mexico.She was a member of the Irwin Road Baptist Church. Wanda worked for Amarillo National Bank for 42 years as an operations officer, where she acquired her love for working with numbers. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and watching her programs. She is known for making others laugh and spending time with her family. Wanda was a very positive person and non-judgemental She was known for her love of food, jewelry and shoes. She is survived by her husband, David Childers; daughters, Leslie Vann and Tina Smith and her significant other Edmundo Ortega; grandchildren, Jeremy Childers, Kerri Urrutia and Savannah Phillips; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Michael David Childers and granddaughter, Jillanna Childers.
