Wayne Hood

Wayne Hood 88 of Amarillo, TX passed away Saturday November 02, 2019. He was born March 27, 1931 in Swisher County to Herman and Lessie Hood. He married Marilyn Pixley October 2, 1954. Wayne was a self-employed masonry contractor his entire career. He enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states twice. His hobbies were listening to bluegrass music and car racing. When he was not working as a masonry contractor, he was a part-time farmer. Wayne was a small plane pilot.

Wayne is survived by his son, Steve Hood and wife Kerry of Amarillo; daughter, Christine Bonds of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren, Eric Hood, Alan Hood, Cory Bonds, Lauren Terry; and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a special loving companion, Francis Burgess.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lessie Hood, and his wife, Marilyn, who passed away in 2010.
