William "Bill" Albert Tucker, 73, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017. Celebration of Life service will be 4:00 pm Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Tasajillo Pavillion, Juniper Campground, Palo Duro Canyon State Park, with Paxton Whatley officiating.
Bill was born December 13, 1943, in Pampa, to William Forrester and Mabel Selma Tucker. He graduated from West Texas A&M with a bachelor degree in English Literature. He had worked at Pantex, McCormick advertising, York Tire Co. and Hastings before going out on his own. He has won many accolades in his life time in advertising. He had a true love for the classics and could have been caught many times quoting Moby Dick, Robert Frost, or even Shakespeare. He was a man known for his humbleness, courageousness, and generosity, a man of true character. His friends and those who knew him remember him as kind, loving, intelligent, gentle and good. A hero, if you will, to many. He had a love for adventure and travel. The last many years you could find him in his RV pointed in any direction but always knew where home was in Amarillo. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sarah Tucker Will, and his second wife, Faye Tucker.
He is survived by his daughters, Didama Star Stater and husband Brent of Amarillo and Zoe Dalley and husband Kenan of Austin; his grandchildren, Chancely and Kelsey Stater, Ceasarae Stater, and Sarah Rivers Stater; he is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Shelton and husband George of Plano. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren as well as 2 bonus sons from his second marriage and their families.
