William E. Scott Sr.

Mr. Scott was born on October 9, 1927 in Ysleta to Walter J. and Lorena Currie Scott. He graduated from Phillips High School and served his country in the United States Marines. He married Gwenn Martin on June 29, 1963. Mr. Scott worked in the plumbing, heating and air industry all of his adult life. He worked for Clowe and Cowen for ten years before founding H&S Plumbing for thirteen years. He started Scottco Mechanical in 1972 with his wife Gwenn. Scotty and Gwenn had a great love for dancing and traveling. They square danced with the Santa Fe Chiefs & Squaws Square dancing Club for many years where he also served as the "Caller". They had the opportunity to travel in their motor home all over the United States. Scotty was a Mason as well as a Member of the Khiva Shrine where he served as Potentate in 1977. He was a member of the Amarillo Executive Club. He is preceded in death by his wife Gwenn on December 31, 2013, one brother, James Scott and two sisters, Geneva Bond and Dolly Clementine Cox He is survived by two sons, Brad Martin and wife Carol and William E. "Sonny" Scott Jr. and wife Dana all of Amarillo and two daughters, Becky Nickel of Clinton, Oklahoma and Linda Gardner and husband John of Alameda, California: 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren Family suggests memorials be made to Olivia's Angels c/o Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice.
