Willie Brown

Willie Eugene Brown, 85, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.

Willie and Shirley were married on November 7, 1963 they had shared a lovely fifty-seven years together, three beautiful children, and many great times together. Willie had served in the United States Navy. He had obtained a Master’s degree in History from WTAMU. Willie had a passion for fishing, gardening, and camping in the great outdoors. Willie truly loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his dogs, some would say more than his family.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Lula Brown; his two brothers, Newman and Millard Wade.

Survivors include his wife Shirley, of the home; two daughters, Rhonda Kuxhausen of Amarillo, and Jeana Anderson of Happy; one son, Byron Brown and wife Denise of Happy; seven grandchildren, Ethan Eric, Randy, David, Ryan, Andrea, Courtney and Trevor; ten great-grandchildren.
