Willie Vasquez, Jr.

August 3, 1954 — April 29, 2015

Willie was born August 3, 1954 in San Antonio to Lillie G. and Willie R. Vasquez, Sr. He was a six year member of the Sidney Lanier High School Band in San Antonio and a member of The Chapters gospel group of Amarillo. He was a powerful gospel singer who loved to praise God with his voice. He was a great example of a son, brother and uncle. He always cared for his parents, family and friends. He loved his nieces and nephews as well as the multitude of lifelong friends he encountered in his life. He was a member of the Corvette Club, even owning a limited 40th edition 1993 model himself. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Lupita Amaya. He is survived by his siblings, David Vasquez, Sr. and wife Oralia D. of Austin, Rosario Riojas and husband David, Janie Logan, and Teresa Vasquez all of Amarillo, Oralia Rivera and Tony Vasquez both of San Antonio; his special companion, a boxer named Elvis Vasquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
