W.R. “Dub” Moore, Jr., 94, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Washington Ave. Christian Church, 3800 S. Washington St. with Ginger Tucker officiating.
Dub was born December 4, 1927 in Anson, Texas to William and Ada Moore. He married Faye Kendrick in 1945. She passed away in 1976. He married Wanda Kendrick in 1977. She passed away in 1988. Dub owned and operated a service station in Amarillo for many years. He worked for Amarillo National Bank in maintenance. He then went to work at Tascosa Country Club as a landscaper and worked there until the age of 77. In his spare time, Dub was an avid hot wheels collector and loved doing puzzles. He enjoyed constructing elaborate rooms and buildings with Lego’s. Dub married his third wife, Betty, on February 14, 1992. They would’ve celebrated 30 years of marriage this Valentine’s Day. They joined their two families together, and Dub loved Betty’s family as his own. Dub will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Faye Moore; his second wife, Wanda Moore; a daughter, Dorothy Hollabaugh; five sisters; two brothers; a grandson, Jeremy Len Roderick Schnell; a granddaughter, Linda Cereghino; a step-daughter, Carol Roberson; and two great-grandsons, Devan Hollabaugh and Neythan Hollabaugh.
Survivors include his wife Betty Moore; his daughter, Judy Schnell of Scottsbluff, NE; one brother, Johnny Moore and wife Susie of Crossville, TN; three step-daughters, Brenda LaGrone and husband Garre of Canyon, Barbara Frank and husband Bill, and Beverly Turner and husband Wendell all of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Steve Roberson of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
