Mary “Yvonne” Bittick of Amarillo went to be with our Lord on, 01/21/26. Services will be at 2:00 pm on 01/27/26 at Washington Avenue Christian Church at 3800 S. Washington St. Amarillo, TX 79110 with the Reverend Jim Shelburne officiating. Funeral arrangement will be with Cox Funeral Home 4180 Canyon Dr. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Yvonne was born on December 18, 1928 to L.C. and Helen Lester. She married J.B. Warren in April of 1948. He proceeded her in death in 1973. She married Claude E. Bittick in August of 1976. They were married 34 years. He proceeded her in death in 2010.
Yvonne worked for Amarillo Independent School District for 21 years. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Her enjoyment in life was to cook and bake for her family and friends. Her kitchen was put to good use making brownies, cakes, and various desserts for all those she loved. She loved outdoors and yardwork. Sitting in her Gazebo and on her patio was a great joy to her. Every morning she fed her faithful Doves that always appeared at sunrise. She was a faithful and loving servant to our Lord and Savior with her morning devotionals.
Yvonne is survived by three daughters Iva Vorhies, Felicia Allred of Amarillo and one preceded in death, Linda Hubbard. Three sons Stanley Warren, Joe Bittick and wife Sheila, Larry Bittick and wife Jean, all of Amarillo. Two sisters, one preceded in death. She has 10 grandchildren, Jason and wife Rhonda Reynolds, Sonja Martin, Ben Davis and Jason Skoog, Jeff Davis and wife Charla, Chad Bittick and wife Kristi, Cheri and husband Shawn, Earl Bittick, Lori Taylor and husband Jeff, Erica Wallace and husband Shay, Lynsey Clayton. One grandson David Bittick preceded her in death. She has 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several beloved grand dogs and host of other family and friends. She was lovingly known as “MeMe” and will always be remembered for her generous heart and love for all who knew her. She made many special friends throughout her life, but special love to Carol Richards.
Visitation will be at Cox Funeral Home on Monday January 26, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Washington Avenue Christian Church (WACC) or your favorite charity.
