Alice M. Gilbert, 65, of Amarillo, passed away May 22, 2020. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Alice will be available for Viewing Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 1:00 PM — 2:00 PM and Thursday, May 28, 2020, from 8:00 AM — 8:00 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Alice was born March 10, 1955, to Edward and Mary Rice in Great Falls, Montana. She graduated from Caprock High School. Alice married her soul mate Tim Gilbert on June 28, 1986. She was devoted to her work family at AIG, with whom she worked for 30 years. Alice was an excellent chef; She always showed love for her family and friends through a good meal. Alice was a free spirit, which was a driving force for her to enjoy her favorites, including Rock N Roll, Oreo's, and playing Wahoo. In addition to being a wonderful cook, Alice had a green thumb and loved to grow plants and incorporate that into her cooking, especially cilantro. Alice loved her husband Tim, and although she will be missed, her family finds great comfort knowing they are together. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Tim Gilbert.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandi Gilbert of Greensboro, North Carolina; one son, Charlie Sharpe of Amarillo; one sister, Carolyn Roller and husband Gary of Amarillo; two nieces, Kelley Gilbert of Amarillo, and Kim; three nephews, Brian, Zac, and Eric. Survivors also include a host of additional family and beloved friends. Alice also leaves behind her sweet dogs, “the girls”, Chula and Shelbee.
