Arthur Leming

Arthur Leming, 81, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. No services are scheduled at this time.

Arthur was born July 28, 1942 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Elroy and Erline Leming. He graduated from Hampshire High School in Illinois, and earned his bachelor degree from the University of Phoenix. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. Arthur worked as a territory sales manager for Western Publishing Co. He was a commercial hot air balloon pilot for many years. His balloon was called “Bal’loonacy”. He participated in the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta for many years, as well as several other festivals throughout the New Mexico region.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dog, Pilot.

Survivors include a son, Robert Leming and wife April of Amarillo; a daughter, Jill Hoyler and husband Rick of Amarillo; two sisters, Marsha Newman and husband John, and Karen Harms and husband Norman; a brother, Kim Ryan and wife Anne; two granddaughters, Katelyn Gross and husband Marcus, and Macy Ivy and husband Colten; great-grandchildren, Sutton, Caison, Cameron, and one on the way; and his best friends, Willie and Tracy Kincaid.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center of Amarillo.
