Barbara A. Scott

Barbara Ann Scott, 86, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday December 31, 2020 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday January 4, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Minister Loran Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Wellington at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday January 3, 2021 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born on January 29, 1934 in Wellington to Sam and Lucy Scott. She attended school in Samnorwood, Texas and grew up on a cotton farm. Barbara was a very giving person and made sure that all those around her always had what they needed. She always thought of others before herself. She worked for several years as a hairdresser and also for Doche cleaners as a shirt presser. Barbara took care of her family, was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was a devoted Christian and loved Jesus. Barbara always enjoyed being surrounded by her nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Barbara has left the land of the dead for the land of the living.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lucy Scott; two brothers, John and Bud Scott; three sisters, Clara Lee Scott, Willie Mae Voss and Joy Eakles.

Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy Skaggs and Molly White both of Amarillo and Gayle Mock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one special niece, Evelyn Knighton; two special nephews, Jeremy Cunningham and Terry Mock II. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks for the loving care Barbara received from The Craig Senior Living, specifically to the memory care team and the Covid Unit, and also to BSA Hospice of the Southwest.
