Bette Jones Obituary

Bette Ann Jones, 72, of Amarillo, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 11, 2020. She was born September 25, 1947, in Amherst, Texas, to Estis Bass and Zonah Anthony- Bass. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 10 a.m., at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, followed by a graveside committal service at Friona Cemetery in Friona, Texas at 1 p.m. A visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, September 14 at the funeral home.

Bette is survived by her loving children, Marty Jones of Amarillo, Dodi (Derrick) Griffin of Linville, AL, Rusty (Michelle) Jones of Corpus Christi, TX; her dear grandchildren, Mitchell (Heather) Jones, Victoria (Robert) Bermudez, and Bethany Jones all of Fritch, TX, D’Kota Griffin, Hunter (Hailey) Griffin, Shyann Griffin, all of Linville, AL, Thomas Cronnon, Charlie Jones, of Corpus Christi, TX ; her cherished great grandchildren, Allie and Amelia Jones, Kailey, Conagher, Kash, and Chancle’ Griffin; Her fond siblings, Charles (Pat) Bass of AR, Troy (Kayrene) Bass of Canyon, TX, and Barbara Bass of Lubbock, TX.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles Jones.

Bette was known for her great sense of humor, she was a very creative, talented person, who enjoyed arts and crafts. She had a very good time zip-lining and looked forward to doing more of it. Bette was a charitable person who loved spending time traveling, and especially enjoyed the peacefulness of sitting and adoring the majesty of the mountains. Another favorite past-time of hers was to go shopping, why, because she liked to. Most importantly to remember about Bette, was her strong Christian belief, she loved God.
