Betty Hall Obituary

Betty Jo Hall, 79, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at Church of Christ at the Colonies, 4500 Wesley Rd. with Minister Dick Marcear officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Betty Jo was born December 27, 1941 in Clarksville, Tennessee. She graduated from Clarksville High School. She married JD Hall on October 18, 1959. They moved to Amarillo from Clarksville in 1966. Betty Jo worked as a secretary for Oakdale Elementary School for 25 years. She then worked for Amarillo Heart group for a number of years until her retirement. Betty Jo and JD were members of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, formerly Lawndale Church of Christ for over 40 years, and have been members of Church of Christ of the Colonies for the last ten years. Betty Jo was a member of the Red Heart Club, and a lifetime member of Texas PTA.  In her spare time, Betty Jo never missed one of her kids, grandkids, or great-grandkids sporting events or activities. She also enjoyed playing bunko, hand and foot, and flower gardening. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents, RC and Virginia McCollom; two brothers, Monroe Reynolds and James Hexamer; a sister, Erma Neuville; and a great-granddaughter, Bella Lewellen. Survivors include her husband, JD Hall; a daughter, Tammy Frigo and husband, Gerald “Jerry” of Amarillo; a son, Jerome “Joey” Hall, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Keller; two brothers, Don McCollom and wife Kim of Amarillo, and Greg McCollom of Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren, Shenné Lewellen, Brittany Lewellen, Tyler Hall and wife Taylor, and McKenna Hall; and two great-grandchildren, Cadon Davis and Bridger Lewellen. The family suggests memorials may be made to the High Plains Children’s Home and Family Services, Inc., 11461 S. Western St. Amarillo, TX 79118.
