Betty Trotter

Betty Alma Trotter, 93, of Amarillo, passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday June 9, 2022. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Reverend Corky Holland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. 

Betty was born on November 19, 1928 to Joe and Eva Ingle in Paris, Texas. She was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo; Betty was a member of the church choir for over thirty years. The entire Trotter family served in music at the church, and were fondly referred to as the “Singing Trotters”. Betty worked as a sales counselor for 25 years for Park Place Towers here in Amarillo. She was a member of the Silver Haired Legislators, paving the way for senior advocacy and building new laws that would benefit the senior community. Betty enjoyed painting, cooking and needle point. She was loved by so many, and will be missed.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Trotter; one son, Darryl Trotter and 7 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Humphries (Max); two sons, Richard Trotter and Stuart Trotter (Kirby); 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that donations be made to the Care Center in Park Place Towers, Moore Assisted Living.
