Bobby Mike Murphy, 63, died on Wednesday, June 8 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday June 11, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church with Scott Higginbotham officiating.
Bobby was born in Hollis, OK on September 29, 1958 to Miles Pinkney Murphy and Mary Jane Murphy. Hollis did not have a hospital at the time so he was born in Dr. Wiggins’ medical clinic across from the post office. He was the fourth son born to Miles and Mary. His older brothers were working in the cotton patch making money for school clothes when they found out they had a baby brother!
Bobby was an avid University of Oklahoma fan and cheered on their football team every year. We think he bled maroon! He picked up this allegiance through his older brother Ronnie. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes with Eddie and playing at the river. He liked sports cars and fishing. He regularly attended Temple Baptist Church and had given his life to Jesus as his Lord. Like all of us, he was a work in progress!
Bobby worked several kinds of jobs, including custodial work and janitorial services; he served as an associate at Walmart for a time; and most recently at Dollar Tree.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers, Ronnie and Jimmy; and by a baby daughter, Melissa.
He is survived by his brother Eddie and his wife, Debbie of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Jo Nell Murphy, of Winslow, AR; and several nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
