Brenda Lee Smith

Brenda Lee Smith, 74, of Amarillo, passed away on April 18, 2023.  Private family services will be held at a later date.

Brenda was born July 24, 1948 to Robert Linza and Lola Lee Rolen (nee Worley), in Clovis, New Mexico. She was one of six children who grew up in many locales, mainly Grady, NM and Lindsay, OK. Brenda was an Okie through and through.  She attended Amarillo College and Wayland Baptist University where she very proudly received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education.  Brenda was short with a big fiery personality.  She especially loved spending time with her family, as family was very important to her.  She thoroughly enjoyed watching college football and was an avid OU fan, Boomer Sooner!!  Family members can attest to what a fantastic cook Brenda was.  She was known to have made many birthday cakes (usually pineapple upside down) for loved ones and could whip up a delicious meal for many in no time.  She also enjoyed camping with her husband, Ron, and would go any chance she got. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing Trivial Pursuit, and attending live theatre.  Brenda was an animal lover who always had a family pet.  Molly and Speckles her dogs (children) brought Brenda so much joy.  She dearly loved all the dogs she had over the years.  Brenda was a joy to be around, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron Smith; her two sons; Samuel Trevor LeDane Bertram and Charles Brent Bertram; four brothers; Robert Linza Rolen Jr., Tom Rolen, Lewis (Red) Rolen, and Larry Rolen; and one sister, Lavana Hogan.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Bertram (Elaine) of Atlanta, GA; her daughter, Delane McUne (Matthew) of Amarillo; four grandchildren; Saralyn McUne, Griffin McUne; Julian Bertram, and Olivian Bertram; many nieces and nephews and two fur babies; Molly and Speckles.

In memory of Brenda, the family suggests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children; Shriners Hospital's for Children
