Carol married the father of her children Wayne McKinney on September 8, 1953, in Clovis, New Mexico they were married 44 years and remained close throughout her life. She was a fabulous cook, and apart from raising her sweet children, Carol worked for Levi Strauss for around 18 years, she would go on to work for Coke-a-Cola for about 10 years. Carol spent the majority of her career working as the church secretary for Mescalero Baptist Church, she retired July 2017 after 20 years in the ministry. Carol was known for the love she showed others; she took care of anyone and everyone most especially her family. Carol never met a stranger, the kids in the church called her the “snack lady” she always had goodies for them. Her family remembers how she always put herself last. She was proud of her family, most of all her grandson Michael. Michael and his parents lived with Carol for a number of years, him and his grandmother became very close and built a strong bond. He is currently serving his country as a Sergeant Marine, and she was very proud of him and his father’s dedication to the United States.
