Carolyn Susie (Shackelford) Hood

Carolyn Susie Shackelford Hood, 78, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at First Foursquare Church, 5515 SW 50th St.

Carolyn was born November 27, 1942 in San Bernardino, California to Bob and Ella Shackelford. She worked at Walmart for 17 years. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed doing crochet, sewing, and watching football. She enjoyed fishing, and was a NASCAR fanatic. Carolyn’s favorite pastime was talking! She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jerry Don Rivers; her second husband, Kin Hood; two daughters, Donna Alward and Tonja Russell; two sisters, Eva Smith and Florence Miracle; a brother, Bob Shackelford; and three granddaughters, Phyllis Moore, Nichole Russell and Dusty Alward.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Moore and husband Rodger of Amarillo; two sons, Robby Hood of Amarillo and Bobby Hood of Kentucky; a sister, Dorothy Tabor of Amarillo; a brother, Jesse Shackelford and wife Vickie of Amarillo; two sons-in-law, A.G. McCormick and Teddy Alward both of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
