Charles Phillip Vanderslice, 79, of Amarillo passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday June 22, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Young officiating.

Charles Phillip was born on January 3, 1943 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Walter and Grace Vanderslice. After graduating high school he proudly served his country in the United States Army in 1961. He married the love of his life Carlene Oakley on their lunch break on May 18, 1977 in Amarillo, Texas. Together they built a life, a family and shared many wonderful years. Charles Phillip loved his family with a passion, especially his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Charles Phillip was a total car enthusiast from Corvettes to Trans Am’s, so much so that he received his drivers license early so he could drive. He was much loved and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Vanderslice; his two sisters, Netha Wells and Margaret Walker.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years; his three daughters Misti Smith (Brian), Brandi Anzaldua and Sherre Howell; his two sons Randy Dial and Ryan Vanderslice (Bobbie); his 10 grandchildren Jordan Vanderslice, Josh Vanderslice, Jace Vanderslice, Trinity Vanderslice, Connor Smith, Kyle Smith, Jensen Smith, Dylan Anzaldua, Brayden Anzaldua and Candice Dial.
