Charles “Charlie” McGoffin, 67, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday September 19, 2023. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00PM at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Chaplain Michael Norris officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Charlie was born on March 29, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas to Roy and Venice McGoffin. He attended Palo Duro High School. Charlie worked as a mechanic from 1979 up until his retirement in 2022. He was a good man, a hard worker, and the type of person to drop everything to help someone out in need. He was contagiously happy and was also very ornery. Charlie enjoyed drag racing, he loved hunting and fishing in mountains. You could always catch him in Eagle’s Nest or Red River, New Mexico. Charlie loved to take his grandkids to the mountains to spend time together. He was a proud sponsor and participant of BOOM Adventures. Charlie will be loved and missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Venice McGoffin.
Survivors include one daughter; Jaycee McGoffin, one son; Justin McGoffin, both of Amarillo; his significant other, Kim Johnson of Amarillo; four sisters; Haila Swift of Amarillo; Cherie Haney of Amarillo; Renita Pollard and husband John of Eagle’s Nest, New Mexico, Krissy McGoffin and spouse Tonya of Tyler, Texas; three grandchildren, Orion McGoffin; Grayson Hulsey; Asher Donais; his ex-wife, Angel McGoffin. Survivors also include a host of family members and dear friends.
