Claudia (Hodges) Forbus

Claudia Forbus, 71, of Amarillo, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep August 9, 2023.  There are no services scheduled at this time.  

She was born in Amarillo, TX to Marvin and Betty Hodges. Claudia grew up in Canyon, TX where she graduated in 1972.  She worked for the City of Amarillo for many years until she retired. While working at the City, Claudia met Richard Forbus.  They were happily married and deeply in love for 30 years until the time of his death in 2020.

Claudia loved life and pursued many hobbies such as taking care of all stray animals, traveling, bowling, sewing, painting, playing slot machines, and playing BINGO.

She was proceeded in death by her father Marvin Hodges and husband Richard Forbus.

Claudia is survived by her mother Betty Hodges of Amarillo, TX; sister Kathleen Hollingsworth of Amarillo, TX; sister Marilyn Whitten of Memphis, TX; and brother and sister-in-law Kent and Monica Hodges of Amarillo, TX.  She was adored and loved by nieces and nephews (Christie and Lance Lair; Dee and Amber Yarbrough; Justin Hodges; Cory Hollingsworth; Whitney and Dwight Griffin; Dacey Hodges; and Hannah Hodges), great nieces and nephews (Zane Hollingsworth, Tyler Lair, Brenden Rodriguez, Zoe Hollingsworth, JD Hodges, Trew Yarbrough, Eve Griffin, and Dean Griffin), and great-great niece (Alana-Jae Hollingsworth).
