Cris Haley, 78, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020. The family is planning services for a later date. Cris was born March 28, 1942 in Tom Green County, Texas to Ervin Allen and Geneva Crisman. She graduated from Midland High School as valedictorian of her class. She went on to earn her bachelor degree at University of North Texas in Denton. Cris worked for Pantex for 17 years, during which time she went back to Amarillo College and earned an associate degree in business management. In 1994, she took early retirement to spend more time with her grandchildren. Cris lived life to the fullest. She was a very kind and positive person, who loved gardening, bird watching, and butterflies. She was an avid reader, and an excellent cook. She enjoyed cooking larges spreads of food for the holidays, to be shared with family and friends. Some of the best times in her life were spent volunteering at Downtown Women’s Center. Cris loved the Lord, and enjoyed listening to sermons by Joel Osteen, Jimmy Evans, and Robert Morris. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cris was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ervin “Cris” Crisman, Jr. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Soria and husband Frank; two granddaughters, Cristina Soria and Cassie Soria; and two nieces, Nancy Crisman Chambers and Eva Crisman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Downtown Women’s Center, at www.dwcenter.org.
