Cynthia Gaye Johnson of Amarillo passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022 at the age of 74. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Cynthia was born in Lubbock, Texas to Joyce and Don Sanders. She married Roney Lee Reeves of Amarillo, Texas in 1966. They had one child, Holly. Cynthia met and married Ronald Lee Johnson in 1983.

Cynthia moved to Amarillo in 1965 with her family. She joined the workforce in 1974 as a cashier at Woolco. Cynthia worked for them until she started working at Wickes Lumber.

She had many friendships over the years and enjoyed family gatherings. Cynthia never met a person she didn’t like and always had a smile and/or joke for everyone.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Johnson; one daughter, Holly Elza of Amarillo; her sister, Susan Giles; three grandchildren, Anthony Young; Thomas Young and Chole Elza; her great-grandchildren, Cadie Young; Mary Young; Elle Tollefson; Isabelle Young; Anthony IV; Ethan Young and Jack Young all of Amarillo, Texas.
