D.P. Phommathep, 40, of Amarillo, died Thursday, March 19, 2020. Viewing will be from 1:00 – 5:00 pm Saturday and from 12:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. D.P. was born January 23, 1980 in Udon, Thailand. He moved to the U.S. with his family in 1980. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1998, and went on to earn a bachelor degree in education and biology from WTAMU. D.P. married Katie Lane on March 14, 2016. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He adored his daughter, Emma, and loved taking her to the park. D.P. never met a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, A.J. Phommathep, K.P. Phommathep, and Peter Phommathep. Survivors include his wife, Katie Phommathep; his daughter, Emma Rose Phommathep; two sisters, KK. Phommathep and husband Randy Padgett of Amarillo, and Kim Shello and husband Arthur of Louisana; and a brother, Vong Phommathep; and his beloved doggy, Dak.
