Danny Reid

Danny Reid, 73, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at HIS Church, 6300 Arden Road with Pastor Joel DiAngi Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Danny was born April 24, 1950 in Amarillo, Texas to Carl and Betty Reid. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1968. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1973, during the Vietnam War, having been deployed to Vietnam twice.

Danny married his wife Pam on March 10, 1993. He worked in the oil fields early in his career, then worked in factory service for JI Case. He worked for the family business, Reid’s Appliance for over 20 years, before going to work for the City of Amarillo in the water department.

In his spare time, Danny enjoyed being in the outdoors; hunting, fishing, farming and gardening. He was a talented wood worker, and he enjoyed watching and feeding the neighborhood squirrels in his yard. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Danny was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Pam Reid; his mother, Betty Reid of Amarillo; his son, Howard Reid and wife Donna of North Richland Hills, TX; three grandsons, Quinn Reid, Blaze Reid and Darian Reid; a sister, Dianna Kimbell and husband Ronnie of Aztec, NM; and a brother, David Reid of Amarillo.
