Daryl “Chip” Dufur, 54, of Dalhart died Friday, May 29, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. Chip was born March 30, 1966 in Cleburne, Texas to Willis and Betty Dufur. He graduated from high school in Riverside, California and attended Amarillo College. He married Jonell Berton on September 13, 1991 in Amarillo. Chip worked for TDCJ in Dalhart for 20 years. In his spare time, Chip enjoyed being outdoors. He was a hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping out. He loved playing games with the family and was an avid reader. Chip was a cat lover and adored all his cats, especially Ed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mae Dufur. Survivors include his wife, Jonell Dufur of the home; his son, Joshua Dufur; his father, Willis Dufur of Hereford; two sisters, Dena Schmidt and husband Gary of Littleton, CO, and Debbie Findley and husband Bud of Keene.
