Debora Phillips-Melendez

Debora Phillips-Melendez, 53, of Amarillo, died Saturday, April 14, 2018. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Coulter Rd. Baptist Church, 4108 Coulter St. with Jose Arzate, youth pastor officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Debora was born November 4, 1964 in Dumas to Tommy and Julia Phillips. She graduated from Caprock High School. She worked for Humphrey's Highland Elementary School for 23 years, where she was the cafeteria manager. In her spare time, Debora loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed dancing and loved getting tattoos. Debora had a contagious laugh that will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Desmond Phillips. Survivors include her husband, Manuel Melendez of Amarillo; two daughters, Briana Sheppard and husband Ra'Shondric, and Ciarra Melendez and fiancé Elias Hernandez all of Amarillo; two sons, Justin Phillips and Jordan Melendez both of Amarillo; a sister, Lisa Tellez and husband Luis of Amarillo; two brothers, Michael Phillips and Brian Phillips of Amarillo; and six grandchildren.
