Demaris Westmoreland

Demaris Westmoreland, 59, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at First Baptist Church Chapel, 1208 S. Tyler St. with Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Demaris was born August 8, 1961 in Amarillo to Dean and Frances Westmoreland. She worked for the Bishop De Falco Center and Crouse Hinds. Demaris loved riding horses with her Dad when she was growing up. As an adult, she enjoyed riding motorcycles, baking, and gardening. She was crazy about dogs. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Westmoreland. Survivors include her mother, Frances Westmoreland of Amarillo; her sister, Dari Johnson and husband Danny of Amarillo; a nephew, Zach Johnson; a niece, Keisha Johnson; four great-nieces, Kamri, Kylee, Kalyn, and Azlynn; a great-nephew, Zayne; a great-great-nephew, Jasper; and her beloved dog, Maxx. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Amarillo SPCA, 11901 Coulter St. Amarillo, TX 79119; or to Holy Cross Catholic Academy, 4110 S. Bonham St. Amarillo, TX 79110.
