Eddie Albert Rogers, 76, of Amarillo passed away September 5, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday September 11, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Lyndon Latham officiating. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday September 11, 2023 at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley, Texas.
Eddie was born in Wellington, Texas on March 14, 1947 to Henry and Louise Rogers. He attended Wellington High School. Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Army and completed a tour in Germany and South Vietnam as a mechanic. After the Army, he had many jobs but spent the majority of his adult life working as a machinist at BNSF Railroad for over 40 years. Eddie was a member of Church of Christ where he met and married the love of his life, Karen in 1981. Together they have shared many years of trips, memories and two beautiful children. Eddie enjoyed fishing, and if you caught him smiling, it was with a fish in his hands.
He enjoyed taking his family to Lake Brownwood, where they would fish till their heart's content and would have a big fish fry with everything they had caught. Eddie was a self-taught guitarist and even learned how to snow ski with Karen. Together they would take many red eye ski trips with Lillie, Rhonda and their church groups. Eddie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death his parents, Henry and Louise Rogers; his daughter, Erin Almanza.
Survivors include his wife Karen; his son Christopher Rogers and wife Melissa; his three grandchildren, Riley Rogers; Owen Rogers; Wyatt Almanza; his two sisters, Lillie Rogers; Sandra Wheeler and husband Buford all of Amarillo.
