Evyone Pope, 80, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday November 15, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday November 18, 2023 at San Jacinto Church of Christ, 823 S. Mississippi St., with Dale Dennis, Minister officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Saturday at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday November 17, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Evyone was born on May 23, 1943 in Porum, Oklahoma to Jess and Minnie Sunday. She graduated from Webbers Falls High School and married her husband, Doyce Pope in Clovis, New Mexico in May of 1969. Evyone has been a longtime member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. She worked as a home health care provider for over 30 years. Evyone enjoyed playing bingo and going to estate sales. She was loved by so many and will always be remembered as a wonderful, caring women. She will be missed.
Evyone was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyce Pope, Sr.; one sister, Faye Holder and one grandson, Tulio Vela.
Survivors include her daughter, Sabrina Varner and husband Jimmie of Amarillo; her son, Doyce Pope Jr. of Amarillo; her step daughter, Anita Maes and husband Ken of Washington; one brother, Kenneth “Buck” Sunday of Perryton; one sister, Callie Nell Maillet of Amarillo; grandchildren, Jessica Vela (Nick) of Amarillo, Sabrina Boyd (Kris) of San Diego, CA, Joseph Boyd (Chloe) of La Mesa, CA, Cherish Baker of Friona, Matthew Varner and Elizabeth Varner and Hunter Pennington (Marissa) all of Amarillo; and one great-granddaughter, Melody Varner.
