Faye E. Drake

Faye E. Drake, 92, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. 

Faye was born March 5, 1931 in Woodland Maine to William and Jesse Warr. She married her husband, James Drake on her 18th birthday, March 5, 1949. Together, they raised four children. Faye dedicated her life to caring for her family. The couple moved to Texas in 1963. After James passed away in 1984, Faye went to work for Colbert’s in Amarillo, where she worked for several years. She then worked with PASO (Panhandle AIDS Support Organization) for many years, doing work which she found very fulfilling. Faye’s favorite pastime was gardening. She put a lot of care and work into her gardens and was very proud of them. Faye adored her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Drake; her daughter, Linda Quiggle; and her sister Verna Norman.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Drake and wife Cynthia of Fritch, and Mike Drake of Dallas; a daughter, Barbara Kerr and husband Craig of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Tanner Drake and wife Alicia, Trevor Drake, Ryan Kerr and wife Kerstin, Justin Kerr and wife Carli, Jason Quiggle and wife Alana, Kristen Axelrod, Michael Quiggle and wife Autumn; and ten  great-grandchildren, Kendall, Hunter, Paxton, Payce, Weston, Gavin, Ali, Kaitlyn and Payton.
