Gary Locke

Gary Locke, 77, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2021 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday May 5, 2021 at City Church, 205 S Polk Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley funeral home.

Gary was born on January 28, 1944 in Amarillo to Curtis and Minnie Locke. He is a United States Veteran who served on the USS Hancock out of San Diego California. Gary spent a short time attending college and was a hard worker. He was a professional painter and always willing to work hard to provide for his family. Gary enjoyed snow skiing and riding his motor cycle. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Gary also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews when he had the time. Gary was a member and worked as a cameraman at City Church. He had a big heart and loved those close to him. He will be missed by many.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kevin Locke; two sisters, Kimberly French and Perri French.

Survivors include his wife Joni Locke; one son, Bentley Locke; one brother, Del Locke and his wife Valarie all of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Zachary and Timothy. He had numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews of whom he was extremely proud and dedicated to. Gary also leaves behind many close friends who will miss him dearly.
