Helen Elena Callaway

Elena (Helen) Calloway, age 70 of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Helen was born November 12, 1951 to Basilio and Jovita Contreras. Before moving to Amarillo, Texas, Helen was raised in Tulia, Texas. Helen was known for her infectious smile and positive attitude. She was always full of happiness and joy and always willing to help others, often taking in homeless  people. Helen was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and her Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she enjoyed visiting with the Elders and Sisters. After the Service family and friends are welcome the join the family at the Amarillo Elks Lodge at 1:00 p.m.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents Basilio and Jovita Contreras, Siblings; Paula Hall, Basilio Jr, Anna Garibay and her son Neil Barry Cuellar. She is now celebrating and dancing in joy being reunited with her family in the presence of their Lord and Savior.

Helen is survived by her brother David Contreras, her daughters, Cherie Cuellar, Billy and husband George Gonzales and Elena Tori and husband Zachary Blair. Grandchildren, Bethany, Tiffany, Stephanie, Rudy Jr., Juliet, George III, Cody Neil, Jenna, Ciara, Serena and Xzabyan. 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
