James Lindeman Obituary

James Arthur Lindeman, 83, of Amarillo passed away March 26, 2023. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday March 31, 2023 with Dr. Buddy Young officiating. The family will be accepting friends and family from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday March 30, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home 4180 Canyon Drive.

James was born on September 2, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Russell and Ruth Lindeman. He graduated from Ben Davis High School. James enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country for 24 years and would always wear his retired veteran hat. His favorite plane was the KC 135 tanker refueling plane and the B-52 Bomber. James met and married the love of his life, Beverly Castleberry on May 19, 1966 in Amarillo. Together they shared 56 years of marriage had two beautiful children. He loved all cars especially the classics, 57’ Thunderbird to be exact. James collected die casts of cars. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, would never miss a game. James was well liked, caring, had a great sense of humor. He would always be there when you needed any help with anything. James was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother by heart Rickie Hastie.

Survivors include his wife Beverly of the home; his son James Keith Lindeman of San Antonio; His daughter Tamara Yates and husband Chris of Amarillo; his two fur babies, Sadie and Sassy; one granddaughter Holly Redden and husband Robert of Amarillo; his sister by heart Marla Williams of Houston; his two brothers by heart, Mickie Hastie and wife Sue of Amarillo; Les Hastie of Amarillo; his nephew by heart Tim Dobbins of Amarillo; niece by heart Macy Brandt of Houston. Survivors also include a host of other family members.
