Jane McFarland, 80, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday November 9, 2023. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday Dec. 11, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebration of life services will follow, starting at 3:00 PM Monday Dec. 11, 2023 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Jane was born on May 12, 1943 in Spearman, Texas to Joseph and Matilda Entrekin. She graduated from Spearman High school where she was chosen as most beautiful and would soon make her way to Amarillo. Jane married her husband, Richard on January 25, 1964 and together they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage together. Jane attended Amarillo College and graduated as a registered dental hygienist and went on to obtain her Master of Science degree in dental hygiene at Waylon Baptist. She retired as a dental hygiene educator from Amarillo College after serving 40 years. Jane enjoyed reading, crocheting beautiful handmade gifts, purchasing fun and unique gifts for her children and grandchildren. She could often be found watching a good movie looking for her next place to travel. Jane was an avid world traveler serving as a missionary for Christ, specifically in Nicaragua, South America she led 12 mission trips bringing dozens of dental hygiene students to serve children in extreme poverty. Jane was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus, family, friends and serving others. She loved well and was loved by so many and she will be dearly missed.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Survivors include her husband, Richard McFarland of the home; her three children, Daughter, Jolena Watson and husband Tony of Amarillo; Son, Todd McFarland and wife Robin of Bushland; Daughter, Leigh Ahrens and husband Chris of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Jerad Watson, Brandon McFarland, Kristin Watson, R.T. McFarland, Haley McFarland, Trey McFarland, Amanda Rice, SaVanah Medley and Ashleigh Hinshaw; 27 precious great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Pendley of Rowlett; two sister in laws, Gina Marrale of Florida and Debbie Crabb of Dallas; one brother in law, Bill McFarland of Amarillo. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
