Joanne Manuel

Joanne Cornish Manuel, 68, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Llano East Cemetery, with Pastor Booker T. Cornish, Jr. officiating. Viewing will be from 1:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. 

Joanne was born on October 31, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas. She was the second of four children born to the union of Irene and Booker T. Cornish, Sr. Joanne graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1971. After graduation, she worked for Levi Strauss and several nursing care facilities in Amarillo.

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Manuel; her parents, Irene and Booker T. Cornish, Sr.; two older sisters, Mary Ann Cornish Jones and Cedar Mae Hough; and a younger brother, Vernell Cornish. She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Pastor Booker T. Cornish, Jr. and wife Eloise of Amarillo; a sister, Mildred Darton of Ft. Worth, TX; two nieces, Altrina Cornish of Maryland, and Tomeca Cornish Nwabuba and husband Rapheal of Amarillo; two nephews, Trindell Cornish of Amarillo and Stephen Darton of Ft. Worth; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
