Obituary

On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Joe Charles Fritz, loving Husband, Daddy to three daughters, Grandpa to ten grandchildren, and two and half great-grandchildren passed away at the age of 73. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Cox- Rowley Funeral Home 4180 Canyon Drive Amarillo, Tx 79109 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Joe was born in Pampa, Tx on March 2, 1950, to Billy Robert and Betty Lou Fritz Brown. He grew up in Pampa and enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, and running around the streets of Pampa with his friends. He started out working in the oilfield industry but switched and became an entrepreneur. For over 45 years he owned and operated Fritz’s Lawn Service in Borger and then later the Amarillo area. Joe and his former spouse, Barbara Brumfield had 2 daughters together Dusti in 1968 and Wendi in 1971. Joe married Connie Lee Fleming, the love of his life on June 28, 1975. Together, they had his 3rd daughter Christi in 1982. Joe was a perfectionist in his work. He was a kind and gentle man in spirit and nature. He always put other people's needs first. He treated people the way he wanted to be treated. He had a great sense of humor, always teasing people and telling his tall tales to his children and then grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father Billy Robert Fritz, his mother Betty Lou Lack Brown, and his brother Billy Richard Fritz, Sr.

He is survived by his wife Connie Fritz; three daughters, Dusti Sugar (Chris) of Amarillo, Wendi Brock (Matt) of Pampa, and Christi Musick (Charley) of Amarillo; ten grandchildren; Blake Milum, Paige Milum and fiance Collin Landenberger, Austin Sugar and spouse Karen, Ashleigh Sugar, Megan Brock and fiance Blake Harris, Ethan Brock, Haley Weatherly and spouse Hagen, Skyler Musick, McKenzie Musick, and Landon Sugar; great-grandchildren Kayson Sugar, Holt Weatherly, and soon to be Olivia Sugar Garcia due in July; nephews Bill Fritz (Leann) and Donnie Fritz (Denise); one Sister-In-Law, Phyllis Young, and his beloved four-legged girl Ginger.
