John Lusk, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home; 4180 Canyon Drive. John was born October 2, 1936 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to John Emory and Dora Lucretia Lusk. He was raised in Steamboat where he was a state wrestling champion. John met and married Jewell DeVoe in California in 1961. They moved their family to Sunray, Texas where they doubled the population. John was a hard worker, having to work multiple jobs and passing his work ethic down to his children. He shocked this little town of Sunray with his big stature, riding a motorcycle, wearing his earrings, his long hair and those big blue eyes. John cherished time elk hunting with his Dad and riding his motorcycles. He loved life, his kids and watching the kids play their many sports. One of his best qualities was that he would help anyone in need. John left his legacy that will live on through many generations. He was preceded in death by a wife, Jewell DeVoe Lusk; two daughters, Coni Saldana and Gigi Lusk and three grandchildren, Stefanie Amason, Kasandra Guist and Teague Lusk. John is survived by 11 children, Marc Lusk and wife Denise of Amarillo, Rick DeVoe and wife Wendy of Corpus Christi, Texas, Chris Lusk and wife Risa of Dumas, Texas, Gina Brassfield and husband Dale of Amarillo, Shawn Lusk and wife Vickie of Fritch, Texas, Sean Lusk and wife Deb of Rhome, Texas, Shannon Lusk and wife Starla of Fritch, Texas, Jade Lusk of Houston, Texas, Scoobie Lusk and wife Crystal of Amarillo, Bo Lusk and wife Lisa of Granbury, Texas and Dreama Coleman and husband Tony of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Dora Lu Waterman of Alamogordo, New Mexico and JoAnn Palmer of Centennial, Colorado; 44 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
