Karolyn Howe Farmer, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2021. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday October 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Amarillo with Dr. Howard Batson Officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Karolyn was born November 15, 1941, in Hugoton, Kansas to Carl and Dorine Horner Howe. Her family moved to Amarillo when she was five, and she attended school at Margaret Wills, Sam Houston, Amarillo and Tascosa High Schools, where she was a member of the first graduating class in 1959, and Amarillo College.
She married Kyle Farmer on January 16, 1971 and blended their family of five children. Karolyn and Kyle enjoyed camping, skiing, bowling and golfing together. Karolyn became a Certified Court Reporter in 1984, and worked as a freelance reporter for 30 years, retiring in 2014.
Karolyn loved serving her Lord as a part of the Amarillo First Baptist Church Family. She was a dedicated member of the seeds of Faith Sunday School Class, and was a service member of the Love Sunday School Class. She was an active part of Amarillo Christian Women's Connection and the Stonecroft Ministries Amarillo Prays organization.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle Farmer, her parents and her brother, Roger Howe.
Karolyn is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mike McDearmon; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Gina Henry; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kyla and Bob Amason; stepson and daughter-in-law, Kent and Heidi Farmer; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kandi and Eddie Connetti; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Bonnie Howe; a sister-in-law Helen Howe, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
