Karon Moore Jackson Obituary

Karon Rose Dent Moore Jackson, 76, of Canyon, Texas, died Thursday, December 31, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 18, 2021 at Crossroads Country Church, 14425 FM 1541 with Rev. Bob Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Karon was born May 20, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas, went to Tascosa High, attended Beauty College and took Bible courses at Amarillo College. After getting saved, Karon started attending Bolton Street Baptist Church with her family, where she made lifelong friends. Karon worked at Furr's Supermarket, where she met Connie, and ultimately worked in the cosmetics department at Furr's. Karon spent many years in the beauty industry (very appropriate because she was beautiful). After more than 35 years, she retired from selling Elizabeth Arden and Clinique cosmetics at Dillard's. She was a hard-working, energetic mother that loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything. She always made sure everyone was thought of and taken care of. She loved to host family and friends at home, always providing the best meals and fellowship. Karon loved living at Sunday Canyon in Palo Duro Canyon in the house Karon’s Dad and Mom built. Both Karon and Connie enjoyed traveling to places like California, Tennessee and to visit their kids. Karon and Connie loved their church homes and the friends they made along the way. They had a passion for Southern Gospel music and enjoyed many concerts and Gaither Gatherings over the years. It was not uncommon to hear these songs of praise being played in the car or at home with the comforting sounds of them both singing along. Karon was a faithful and loyal child of the King and most importantly, would want all of you to accept Christ as your personal Savior and be confident you will spend eternity with Jesus too. Karon was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Connie Jackson; her first husband Dale Moore, loving father of Debbie, Christie and Donnie Dale Moore; and her parents, Lyle and Inez Dent. She is survived by her daughter Debbie Juday and husband Jeff of Kernersville, North Carolina, granddaughter Jacqueline Wyatt and husband Nick, granddaughter Jessica Juday and great grandchildren Bailey and Benjamin; daughter Christie Deen and husband Kevin of Rockwall, Texas, granddaughter Krista Mixon and husband James and great grandchildren Kaleb, Reagan, Jacob and Madison, grandson Joshua Deen and Paige and great grandchildren Jackson, Elijah, Annabelle, Eli, Blakeley, Finley, Rian and Jamisyn; son Donnie Dale Moore of Dallas, Texas, granddaughter Lauren Roberts and husband Jay and great grandchildren Preston, Evelyn and Danielle, grandson Ethan Moore, and granddaughter Allie Moore; daughter Lisa Presley and husband Mike of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Mandy Sinclair and husband Devin of Panhandle, Texas, grandchildren Savannah Sinclair, Jackson Sinclair and Augustus Sinclair; sister Lylene Robertson of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law Olivia Wilson and husband Mike of Weatherford, Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial donations can be made to their beloved church or to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
