Kellar B. Oglesby, 94, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday January 10, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday January 15, 2021 at University Church of Christ, 3400 Conner Drive in Canyon with Minister David Lough officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 14, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Kellar was born on February 21, 1926 in Amarillo to Virgil and Mary Oglesby. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years, during which he served in WWII and the Korean War. Kellar was a teacher for ten years through Texas schools and he also worked as an independent electrical repairman. Kellar retired at 80 years old and then worked as a substitute teacher for Amarillo Independent School District. He was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Forest Hill and West Amarillo Central Church of Christ where he served as an Elder for 30 years. Kellar enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood working among spending time with his wife and family.
Kellar was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and sisters, and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife Frances Talley; one son, Matt Oglesby (Amber) of Canyon; two daughters, Sherry Gossett (G.A.) and Holly Bazan (Jesse) both of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
