Kelly Melton Obituary

Kelly Melton, 64, of Amarillo, passed away on May 23, 2022.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive with Curtis Floyd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral home.

Kelly was born on October 01, 1957 in Amarillo to Wayne and Patricia Melton. He married his sweetheart, Atunya Yarbrough and together they recently celebrated 46 years of marriage. Kelly was an avid NASCAR and Dirt track racing fan who enjoyed all things Dallas Cowboys. At heart, He was a cowboy himself and was a huge John Wayne fan. Kelly enjoyed being around his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved his kids with a big heart; they were his pride and joy.

Kelly enjoyed cooking with the family, which included throwing some good meat on the grill and soaking up family time. He worked for Furrs/Homeland as a stocker, and Hostess/IBC Brand as a Route salesman. Kelly was loved by so many and will be missed.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kent Melton.

Survivors include his wife, Atunya Melton of the home; daughter, Amy Nelson (Mike); son, Christopher Melton (Kim); three brothers, David Melton (Jan), Mike Melton (Lydia), Lyndon Melton (Tami); brother-in-law, Danny Yarbrough (Theresa) all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Maddison Nelson, Nolan Nelson, James Janssen, Brittney Janssen and Kacey Dowlen; four great-grandchildren, Tinsley, Allie, Preslea and Sawyer. Survivors also include a host of extended family and close friends.
