Larry Hawke Obituary

Larry was born in Hood County, Texas on April 16, 1955. God called him home on July 22, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas. There will be a graveside service, celebration of his life, Saturday Oct 23 at 10:00 am in Acton Cemetery, Acton, Texas.

Larry graduated from Haltom High School in 1973. He joined the Army right out of high school, and served in the Army, the Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard. He was very proud to be a Veteran. Larry was invited to compete in the Olympics on the rifle team with his sharp shooting skills; however he did not get to attend due to the USA boycotting the Olympics that year. Larry was a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and could sit and talk to anybody for hours about them. His little red and black Kia Soul was his pride and joy. Larry was proud to be a registered organ donor.

Larry moved to Beaver Oklahoma to be closer to family in 2013. He never married or had children, but treasured all his nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parent and grandparents, his aunts and uncles, and one niece, Tabitha Chaffin.

Survivors include one remaining special Aunt, Aunt Doris Morris, and her husband James. Others left to cherish his memory are his sister and husband (with whom he lived), Phyllis & Donny of Beaver, of Oklahoma; niece, Tiffany and her husband Brent; great nephews, Aydon, Trent, and Ty of Beaver, OK; niece Tosha and husband Tony; great nieces & nephews, Clayton, Serenity, Chloe, and Alex  all of Plains, Kansas; nephew, Tyler Gill and wife Hope of Beaver, OK; sister Regina & Jerry of Ozark, AR; niece Andrea of Chicago, IL; sister, Julie and husband Reggie of Greeley, CO; great nephew, Ryan of Greeley, CO; brother's, Darrell, and Guy Hawke, and their families of California; cousins, Mike, Marvin, & Mendy, and their families of Texas; one adopted nephew (chauffer), Jeremy Skipper who helped him get to his doctor appointments, and take care of him during the last years of his life.
