LeVerne Lasley Obituary

LeVerne Lasley, 96, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday February 18, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday February 23, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Rev. Lane Boyd officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 PM at the Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

LeVerne was born on April 10, 1927 in Dalhart to Emmett and Lois Oldaker. She graduated from high school in Texhoma, Oklahoma. LeVerne spent most of her life in Stratford working alongside her husband, Walter on their family farm. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend and always willing to lend a helping hand on the farm and in the home. She was a homemaker at heart and loved being a mother. LeVerne enjoyed spending time with her children and cherished family. She loved piano music, spending time watching the sunset and enjoying her garden. Although she wasn’t an avid gardener, LeVerne loved flowers and being outdoors. LeVerne and her husband always loved to travel together, and would often fly their plane to College Station for an Aggies football game any chance they got. She had an infectious sense of humor and often made those around her laugh. LeVerne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and stock shows.  She leaves behind a grateful family full of sweet memories.

LeVerne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Lasley Jr.

Survivors include her three children, Walter Lasley and wife Kris of Amarillo; Sandie Woods and husband Steve of Dallas; Griffith Lasley and wife Beverlyn of Stratford; 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Ruby Slippers Home Care, for all the loving care that LeVerne received. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Depot Museum, 17 N. Main St, Stratford, TX 79084 or First Methodist Church of Stratford, 520 N. Main St, Stratford, TX 79084.
