Lynda Raye Wiggins

Lynda Raye Wiggins, 72 of Amarillo, went to be with Jesus Monday, December 28, 2020. Private Family services will be Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Lynda was born December 12, 1948, in Hobbs, NM, to Ray and Madaleine Eveland. Several years later they moved to Denver City, TX where she went to school. She graduated from Amarillo College Nursing, November 1990. She worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital on Polk Street until they sold to High Plains. Before retiring in 2012, she worked at Olsen Manor Nursing Home, Amarillo Kidney Specialist, and Georgia Nursing Home.

Lynda loved being a nurse and helping people. She would talk to anyone, and she was kind to everyone. Family was very important to her, she loved our family get togethers. She was very crafty, she liked to sew, crochet, and draw. She was also a handy woman, she could rewire lamps, and upholster furniture. She loved to read, dancing and playing pool.

She is survived by Rick Wiggins, her husband, the love of her life; a daughter, Tracy Cortesi of Amarillo, a son, Bryan Hendricks of Amarillo, a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Doyle Rackler of Amarillo, a son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Melissa Hendricks, a step-son, John Wiggins of WI, a step-daughter, Diane Wetmore of IN; Nine grandchildren, Hailey Amos, Heather Spear, Jennifer Matthews, Justin Rackler, Jacqualyn McCallister, Jon Rackler, Jayden Rackler, Adam Hendricks, Chandler Hendricks; Fourteen great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Brenly, Makena, Adyson, Avyrie, Traylee, McKenzie, Trinity, McKayley, Kyla, Kydence, Lincoln, Evander, Luke; two sisters, RuthAnn Foster of Broken Arrow, OK, Marlyn Quiroga of FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Hunter Cortesi.
